"Hair Ball" at Meridian

I wasn't really shooting this one for an assigment or anyone else. So I played around and saw what worked and what didn't. So these shots won't be "fashion show quality" but that's ok. I mean how often do you get to use an event like this to experiment with no pressure to get certain results?

I used J's 50mm f1.4 for a fair amount of this shoot.. that and the tamron 28-75. Most of the models actually seemed to want pics taken.. I'm still getting used to that concept. There were two other photographers there and they probably took more traditional aproaches to the event. I'm sure they got better lit boardwalk stuff.. I used my flash on that part of the show very sparingly. I decided to shoot it like a rock show.. whatever stage lights I could use I did. To mixed results. I love the look when it all works out right but you get a lot of shadow and some extremity blurs on a regular basis.
